OPC National Championships - Driver Registration

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Champions Park Lake is excited to host the unified American Power Boat Association (APBA) Outboard Performance Craft (OPC) National Championships Aug. 6-8, 2021. As a unified nationals, we will offer 6 classes in OPC to race for a national championship.

Overall payout for the nationals at this time is $25,000 and we will spread the purse proportionately to the amount of individuals’ entry fees and # of boats in the class. There is no tow money, but teams will most likely get their entry fee back plus purse. There are no refunds unless a class has dropouts after June 1 and the class cannot complete the five entries for national status. Only then will a full refund be allotted.

In addition, Besser Health — presenting sponsor of the APBA OPC National Championships and Wake the Lake 5 — is offering a $5,000 purse bonus to the class that garners the most views, likes and sales through their Facebook and Instagram social ads.

Here’s how it works:
1. Get five registrations for your class.
2. Besser Health and Champions Park Lake posts your class’s ad on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
3. Class teams, friends and family begin sharing, liking posts and purchasing product. (Share as much as you want or can and buy as much as you want — no limits.)
4. The class with most views by July 18 earns an additional $5,000 to their class purse, to be distributed evenly.
a. One Like on an ad equals 100 views.
b. One purchase of a Besser product through www.getbesser.com with class name entered as the promo code earns and additional 1,000 views per order.

Each team registration will be allotted five pit/event entry passes for crew and driver for the weekend. Additional crew passes will be available for purchase at discount — $15 for weekend or $10 per day (Friday is free). Keep in mind this is a gated facility you must have a wrist band to get in.

Registration again will take place at the Red Firebarn and will open up on Thursday and Friday.

Teams are allowed to start loading in on Wed. Keep in mind we don't have security starting until Friday evening.

COVID-19 pandemic protocols have been recalled, meaning we're back to normal as an event status

In addition, your registration fee includes a $50 transponder that will be utilized for digital timing at Champions Park Lake in 2021. If you lose, damage or destroy your transponder, you are responsible for purchasing a replacement or renting a new one to be scored in the race.

Registration fees for classes prior to July 28th (After July 28th $100 late entry fee will be added):
-$300 per class entered — Formula 200, Formula 150, & SST 120
-$200 per class entered — SST 45 & SST 60
-$150 per class entered — VP 75

Once registered, Champions Park Lake will email you an invoice that you can pay with credit card or mail a check.

On-site Team Camping and Pits. With the increase in the expected campers we need each team to provide us with a proposed pit layout. We will layout our the pits prior to your arrival. Each team is alloted 2 powered hookups at $50 a piece. We have limited 50 amp hookups and the majority are 30 amp. If you have crew or team members that would like to camp outside of your alloted hookups we have general camping available for $100 per spot and raceview camping available at $350 per spot. Raceview camping does not have power provided this year. Contact Dana Potts to make all your reservations for your team.

On-site Fuel will be housed in the maintanance building area. It will be 90 octane REC ethanol free fuel. The price will be at the rate of fuel of that time which could be $4-$5 per gallon. We will only accept cash and fuel hours will be 8am to 11am each day. So bring enough jugs to plan your day.

Courtyard Marriott is our host hotel again. Here is the link to book hotels. Price rate is $116 per night and Courtyard just finished their renovation. We're looking at some other options because hotels will be tough this year. https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1615227120584&key=GRP&app=resvlink

RV Rentals are available this year with Specialty RV. http://www.specialtyrvrentals.com/?

Golf Cart rental is again available. $275 for the weekend. Here is the link to order golf carts. Golf carts must be reserved through this site. We do not directly handle them
