Springfield, OH - Springfield F1 Grand Prix has partnered with Finishtiming to provide live, up-to-date timing and scoring for all racing classes Aug 25-27. In addition to being able to access live timing through FinishTiming's website (www.finishtiming.com), fans will also enjoy digital scoreboards on-site at the Clark County Fairgrounds Lake. "I've known Mike Chatfield for a long time. His company has grown emmensely in the sports timing industry as it pertains to running events," stated Dana Potts, event promoter and owner of B2B Motorsports. "Mike was one of the first guys to utilize computer telemetry in tunnel boats back in the 90's. It was difficult back then to collect data like that on water-based race track. But he's always been on the cutting edge, able to hone his ideas and make them work. I'm so excited that his company will be partnered with us to present boat racing in this innovative way. We'll be using traditional timing systems too. But using Mike's Finishtiming at our race is a trial, and if the teams really like it, it potentially could be adopted for other races in the series and beyond. Most importantly, it will help provide a great experience for the fans." Finishtiming, based in Springfield, OH, was used last Fall for a tunnel boat feasibility demonstration on the Clark County Fairgrounds Lake. Mike Chatfield has also been leading the charge in developing the cross-country course at the lake. "We're excited to be a part of this great event and venue," stated Mike. "I've grown up in boat racing and can't wait to help put on a great show for Springfield and all the boat race fans".
Finish Timing - The company was started in 2001 with the idea of offering timing and scoring services to local schools at a reasonable price and getting results in the hands of the coaches as quickly as possible. Not much has changed in 15 years except that we have gotten much bigger in that time. Finish Timing offers more services than most in that they have "Live Results" at all of our meets. They have onsite Display boards showing current results. We also have our own online entry system and Ranking system. We take all of our results from all of our meets and upload them to our rankings system plus allow cooaches to enter marks from meets we are not at to keep a very comprehensive listing.
